General Club Information:

History:

The club was supported by the university until 1994, when it disbanded due to a lack of interest. It was revived in 2001, and now we are a functioning club sport competing in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association against other schools. The Northwestern Equestrian Team believes that commitment, dedication and a love of horses are more important than prior experience. Therefore any student who has a desire to ride should be allowed that opportunity.

Practice schedule:

Riders go at least once a week to Glen Grove Equestrian Center in Morton Grove, and shows are scheduled throughout the year at Southern Illinois University, Kansas State University, and Washington Universi ty in St. Louis.
Lessons are $40 each, and contact the President for more details.

League affiliation:

Intercollegiate Horse Show Association, Zone 9 Region 2

$250/year

Tryout schedule:

Lessons are scheduled at the start of each quarter. New riders (from beginners through advanced) are encouraged to contact the presidents for more information. Even beginners can compete in horse shows, so don't hesitate!
