Alumni and Affiliate Access
Group IV (Alumni Status)
Northwestern University alumni of graduate and undergraduate programs
and alumni of University College/School of Continuing Studies are eligible to
purchase a SPAC Membership
at the Alumni rate:
- Alumni: Members of the Alumni Association as determined by the Alumni
Office (1800 Sheridan Road). The Alumni Office will issue an Alumni identification
card to members of the Alumni Association. Status may also be proven with
a copy of final transcript or copy of diploma.
Group V (Affiliate Status Membership)
The following are eligible to purchase a membership at the Affiliate
rate:
- Long Term Affiliates: Contract employees of Northwestern University
(such as Marriott), the staff and house staff of McGaw Medical Center,
and Research Park Employees are eligible to purchase a membership. These
individuals must present a valid Northwestern University WildCARD affiliate
identification.
Employees of the following institutions are eligible for Affiliate
status rate:
- Research Park
- Berlin Printing Company
- Institute for Learning in Retirement
- Family Institute
- Marriott
- Sorority house mothers
- McGaw Medical Center and affiliated hospitals:
- Children's Memorial
- Evanston
- Glenbrook
- Northwestern Memorial
- Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC)
- Veterans Administration Lakeside Medical Center
- **St. Francis Hospital is not considered an affiliate institution*
Group VI (Donor Status Membership)
- General Public: Individuals not presently affiliated with Northwestern
University may purchase a membership by donating a minimum of $1,000 per
year to the Northwestern University Department of Athletics and Recreation.
This contribution entitles the individual to purchase a membership at the
Alumni rate. Note: Public Memberships are available for the Vandy Christie
Tennis Center and NU Sailing Center without a required donation fee.
Group VIII (Family Status Membership)
Individuals listed in Groups I, II, III, IV, V, VI, or VII who have
a membership may purchase a membership for family members listed below
for the rate corresponding to their own affiliation status. Individuals
with Visiting Student status are eligible to purchase a quarter membership
only.
- Spouse or Domestic Partners: The spouse or domestic partner of individuals listed in Groups I, II, III, IV, V, VI
or VII must present a valid Northwestern University WildCARD spouse identification
card or NU Domestic Partner form, or show the sponsoring person's identification along with acceptable proof of
joint residence (checking account or signed lease).
- Children or Dependents Aged 16-22: Any child or dependent of individuals
listed in Groups I, II, III, IV, V or VI between the ages of 16 and 22.
Children 16 years or older may use the building at any time and do not
need to be accompanied by an adult.
- Children or Dependents Under Age 16: Any child or dependent of individuals
listed in Groups I, II, III, IV, V or VI under the age of 16. Children
under the age of 16 may ONLY use the facilities during designated family
hours. Access to conditioning rooms and exercise equipment is restricted.
Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times
while in the facility.
- Parents: Parents of Full-time Northwestern University undergraduate
students must be accompanied by the sponsoring student or present their
child's valid WildCARD.
Daily Use Privilege
Daily fees may be paid to access the Henry Crown Sports Pavilion/Norris
Aquatics Center, NU North Beach, Patten Gymnasium, or the Vandy Christie
Tennis Center. Use of Blomquist Recreation Center and the NU Sailing Center
require the purchase of a membership.
- Group I - VII Affiliate Status: Individuals in any of the above categories
may opt to pay a daily fee to use the Henry Crown Sports Pavilion/Norris
Aquatics Center, NU North Beach, Patten Gymnasium, or the Vandy Christie
Tennis Center. Daily fee users must present one of the valid ID cards indicated
above to the Front Desk Entry Attendant to show proof of affiliation. Daily
fees are charged according to affiliation status.
- Sponsored Guests: Individuals who do not fall into any of the aforementioned
categories are considered members of the general public. Members of the
general public may use the facility as a sponsored guest of anyone belonging
to Groups I-VI. Individuals listed in Groups I - VI may sponsor a maximum
of four guests per day. Each guest will be charged the sponsored guest
rate.
- Conference, Workshop, Institute, and Seminar Attendees: Individuals
attending conferences, workshops, institutes, or seminars sanctioned by
departments within Northwestern University are considered sponsored guests
of the university. The sponsoring department may opt to purchase a special
pass that enables attendees to use the facility for the entire time of
the conference or workshop or make arrangements for the participant to
pay at the front desk. Arrangements must be made prior to the participants
