What is SPAC?

SPAC is short for Sports Pavilion Aquatics Center and is used to refer to the Henry Crown Sports Pavilion/Norris Aquatics Center.

What does it cost to use the gym?

There is no cost for full-time students who have a valid WildCARD to use the gym. However, the cost for others depends on how you are affiliated with the university. Part-time students, university employees, alumni, affiliates, and members of the general public all pay different rates.

How do I access the gym?

A valid WildCARD or membership ID is required to access the gym. Affiliates who are full-time students or do not have a membership must pay a daily fee to access the gym. Membership is required to access Blomquist gym; no daily fees are allowed.

When is the gym open?

There are three exercise facilities on campus open at various times throughout the day. At least one facility is open at 6am Monday-Friday and 8am Saturday and Sunday. Consult the facilities schedule for a listing of times.

Do I have to be a member to use the gym?

Membership is not required to use fitness and recreation facilities, however you must have valid proof of affiliation with Northwestern. If you are not affiliated with the university, you may come as a guest of an affiliate.

Where do I go to become a member?

Memberships may be purchased in the membership office at 2311 Campus Drive, Evanston, IL.

Do you have personal trainers?

We employ a staff of personal trainers that you may hire to help you with your exercise routine.

Where is the gym located?

There are three fitness and recreation facilities on campus. Two are located on the north end of campus, Patten Gym, and the Henry Crown Sports Pavilion/Norris Aquatics Center. The other, Blomquist Recreation Center, is located on south campus.

Is there a fee for parking?

Parking is regulated by the NU parking office. Permits are required to park from 7:30am to 4pm Monday - Friday. Permits are not required on the weekend.

Are children allowed in the gym?

Children under the age of 16 may use the gym during designated family hours only and must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
